A look at the official website and its different sections. Many images from there are now broken. The official website was up from 1998 to 2001, and you can check it out for yourself using the Wayback Machine.

Practice your skills shooting Tort the Tortured
This page is a minigame of sorts where you shoot Tort by clicking on him.
Each time you would be taken to a new page with a different image of him with lower health and more model damage until he was dead. It takes ten clicks to kill him and then you are prompted to go back to the first page. Pages 1, 3, 6, 8, 9 and 10 are broken on the archive, so what they may have been is unknown. |
Gallery of Characters
The gallery displays several character renders and gives them a short bio. Unfortunately, some of their images are now broken.
These characters are: Carnie, Gool, Betty, Tinsel, Tort and Rodz (they have separate pages on the website but their bio is the same), Nik-Nak, Flap-Jack, Zombie (called Rotten Robbie), Junior, Krampus and Smilin' Bob. Seemingly no other characters were ever added to the website. Nik-Nak's image file is named Samsam. The URLs for Flap-Jack, Betty and Tinsel calls them Tops, Inng and Krik respectively, reflecting what they were named in the game's files. |
The Making of CarnEvil
This page contains concept art from CarnEvil's development, as well as a separate page named 'Our Team'.
The 'team' page contains only one broken image, but it is likely to be the photograph of the CarnEvil Design Team. |
There were 18 concept art images in total over three pages, but only the first page's thumbnails have survived.
Though the website said 'watch this space for the full story', as late as December 2000 the webpage appears to had not changed in any way. Several pieces of concept art have since come to light, and are featured in our Gallery. However, we do not know if those we have found were once from the website, or some other source, like the character posters. |
None of the currently found images could match the two landscape images shown on the third page. It is unknown what they may have been. Perhaps it was concept art of a stage, rather than a character. If anyone knows what any of these images were, or has them, please contact the website. |
Multimedia
Videos
Multimedia has three sections: videos, music and screenshots. However, these banners have their images broken, so it can be easy to miss them.
The first download (14mb) is likely the intro, as it is named 'attract'. The second download (4mb) is named 'music video', so is likely the second attract mode, which shows gameplay over music. |
Music
The broken image beneath the video downloads goes to the music page. This is the only official source that gave the tracks a name.
However, it erroneously calls the Chamber of Horrors the House of Horrors. As the Haunted House track is made up of two parts that loop independently of each other, it could be argued that they were split up on the website. However, the Big Bunyan Ride - also composed of two parts - is not split up here. Also, this would leave the Chamber of Horrors absent, so they probably just made a mistake. |
Strangely, Junior's boss theme and the music from the Garage are missing from the website. You can download the tracks from our Music page.
Screenshots
Finally, there is the screenshot section. There were fifteen images in total, but only eight thumbnails have survived. The first six show parts of the game's introduction, the second page is completely broken, and the remaining two are from the Freak Show. The image of Junior is the same one shown on the game's flyer. His name is also above his health bar, a trait of beta footage (this is also seen during the game's attract mode). So it is possible that some of the broken images are also images from the flyer.
