Diagnostics Menu
The diagnostics menu is used to change game options and check for problems. Many of these checks are unimportant if you're playing on MAME, so we'll only feature those that are relevant to playing in MAME.

To enter the diagnostics menu, press F2 during the game, then use - and = to scroll through options, and F2 to select.
Gun Calibration
When you first start up the game, your guns will be unable to shoot anything as they have not been calibrated. Here is how to calibrate your guns.
- Enter the diagnostics menu and select Gun Calibration to be taken to the Gun Galibration screen. The option is also in Diagnostics
- Shoot the crosses that appear on screen
- If you are happy with your calibration accept it using the shoot button and move on to player 2
- If you are not happy, press 1 or 2 to cancel and try again.
- Calibrate Player 2’s gun in the same way
- Exit the Diagnostics menu by pressing the exit options
Now that your guns are calibrated you can start the game.
Adjustments
These don't affect many things, so we'll just go through them. It's Additional Adjustments that affect things more.
Pricing - Change currency or how many credits are needed to play or continue. Free Play - Make it so that you don't need to insert any credits to play. Attract Sound - Turn attract mode sounds on/off Full factory restore - Restore settings to default |
Additional Adjustments
Game difficulty, player starting health and monster strength each have 5 options: very easy, easy, normal, hard and very hard. Setting 'player health' to very hard halves it.
Game difficulty- Increases/decreases the number of enemies that appear Player Starting Health - Player has more/less health (ALSO AFFECTS HOW MUCH HEALTH IS LOST WHEN BETTY IS SHOT) Monster Strength - Enemies have more/less health Pump Onscreen - Enable/disable onscreen pump High Score Autograph - Enable/disable ability to draw in your high score name Flash Brightness - Increases/decrease screen flash brightness when firing (cabinet only) Called "Screen Flash Brightness" in Version 1.0.1 Big Baby- Enable/disable Junior. Disabling 'Big Baby' replaces Junior with Deaddy Show Score - Display or turn off score display. Score still displayed at the end of levels Reset High Scores - (V1.0.1 only) Resets High Scores to Default. Also found in Utilities in both 1.0.1 and 1.0.3 Offensive Food Court - (V1.0.3 only) Enable/Disable the Guilloteens making rude gestures Sound mode - Switch between mono and stereo sound.
